Business Services – RCK and Service Fee Recovery
What is Returned Check Processing?
Often referred to as electronic representment (RCK); recovers funds from returned checks by submitting the check electronically to the check writer's bank account. Electronic Representment will give you faster bad check recovery, resulting in 20 to 30% higher recovery rates and lower bank fees.
Affirmative’s NSF Remote software is available for scanning merchant’s uncollected and NSF checks that are converted to an electronic RCK item and transmitted over the Internet to the NSF payment processor. The NSF remote software is installed on a local PC and can reside at any merchant location provided they have internet access. NSF Remote offers your customers a convenient and expedited way to represent items electronically vs. having to mail in their checks, further delaying the clearing cycle.
Merchants receiving Check 21 files for any returned items can also choose to import the X9.37 file into the NSF software using ATI’s NSF File Loader; bypassing the need to scan the physical checks.
What type of bad check reporting does NSF Merchant Remote offer?
NSF Merchant Remote offers a secure electronic website to access your returned item reports. This secure website gives access to detailed, customizable check information. Account information can be sorted and viewed by specific criteria, including dates, regions, stores, amounts and more. There are also reports that help detect internal fraud and check acceptance problems. All data can be exported for reconciliation reporting.
